Dear Fellow Alumni,
On these the holiest of days, may I wish you all the Happiest Easter Sunday!
Let us rejoice in your generosity that has made an impact in the lives of our kababayans in Limasawa, Cebu, Bohol and other communities affected by Typhoon Odette. In addition, the UP Los Banos Health Services ER Extension Facility has been completed and has been serving patients.
UPCM and PGH, our North Star, are both in the news. PGH was the only state institution among those ranked by the professional networking site LinkedIn, as a good place to work.
UPCM received commendation from the Medical Student Council for having responded to each and every need when the college went on lockdown and had to move to a virtual platform.
UPMASA is acknowledged by both Dean Charlotte Chiong and Director Gap Legaspi as an important partner that has allowed them to excel.
Let us also rejoice that the Medical Science Building, the Henry Sy Sr.Hall will be inaugurated on July 15.The UPMASA auditorium will have a celebratory program on December 19,2022.
Dean Charlotte Chiong and her team are adjusting to the new reality, a rebirth so to speak, to upgrade the Quality Assurance Office and improve the way medicine is taught and learned. UPMASA is heeding the call and embarking on Operation Sparkle. There are 6 major initiatives that, in collaboration with UPMAS, we are rallying support for. Top priorities of the Dean’s Office are: UPCM +; Plastinates for Anatomy and Digitalization and Archiving for Quality Assurance.
The details are in the upmasanational.org website where you can press the donate button. Let us all contribute with whatever amount we can afford so we can collectively look across the Pacific Ocean and know thousands of us let our alma mater sparkle.
The dean is attending the Annual Grand Convention in Boston in July. It would be fantastic if we are able to present to her the fruits of this campaign.
Let’s not let anyone dull the sparkle of the UP College of Medicine.
Thank you for the privilege of your time. And Happy Easter to you and yours.
