Alice & Manuel Villafranca Memorial Fund

$50.00$1,000.00

Manuel V. Villafranca (March 13, 1946 – September 3, 2023) and Alicia A. Villafranca (March 3, 1944 – June 6, 2025) of Westfield, NJ, were dedicated supporters of UPMASA throughout their lives. In honor of their memory and commitment to UPMASA’s mission, this Memorial Fund has been established at the request of their family, including their daughter, Maria Isabel, and son, Raul.

Originally from Bicol, Manny was a proud member of the UP College of Medicine Class of ‘71 and served as Past President of the UPMASA NJ/NY/CT Chapter. He trained in Psychiatry at UP-PGH and later at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, before settling in New Jersey with his family in 1984. There, he served as Medical Director at several hospitals and ran a private practice in Westfield alongside his wife.

As Office Manager, Alice was known for her warm, welcoming presence. Patients often arrived early just to spend time talking with her, a testament to the trust and comfort she inspired.

As immigrants with a deep belief in healthcare, education, and service to those in need, Manny and Alice had long hoped to further support UPMASA’s vital work. In lieu of flowers, their family invites you to honor their legacy by contributing to this Memorial Fund, which will help build unrestricted resources for UPMASA to continue advancing medical education in the Philippines and improving the standard of care at the Philippine General Hospital.
