The inaugural year of the UP Mindanao College of Medicine is 2026 and 35 students are slated to be the first batch. ย In the absence of support from CHED (Commission on Higher Education) and the Government (local or national), each student will require an estimated P220,000 the first year. ย It is hoped that this will decrease next year, however, time is of the essence. ย The UP Mindanao College of Medicine was the vision of previous UP President Concepcion and our present President Jimenez and finally coming into fruition. ย It was established as a response to the urgent need for more Physicians serving the marginalized underserved, geographically isolated, and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) in Mindanao. ย Whereas the machinations are now ongoing to establish long term partnership with Government and Private agencies, the critical window where qualified students require immediate financial support is here. ย UPMASA will partner with the University of the Philippines Mindanao Foundation Inc, a non-profit organization, that will implement the Medical Scholarship Bridge Program.
The following flexible sponsorship are being offered:
UGAT Circle (Individual or single group Sponsorship) – Full support P220,000 or $3600
KATUWANG Circle (Collaborative Sponsorship) – Shared support among 5 donors: ย P44,000 or $730.00
BAYANIHAN Circle ( Community Sponsorship) – Shared among 10 donors: P22,000 or $360.00
KABALIKAD Circle (Common Support Fund) – Open contribution, to a pooled scholarship fund : ย P6000 or $100
